Your browser's spell check could leak your passwords

Many people use spell check since typos in emails and documents look unprofessional.

Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge's enhanced spell check can send PII and passwords to the companies.

According to BleepingComputer, both browsers provide spell check.

Those who want more spell check options can enable Enhanced spell check in Chrome or add Microsoft Editor Spelling & Grammar Checker to Edge.

Using either tech giant's browser sends form data to the company.

Depending on the site, form data may include your SSN, name, address, email, date of birth, contact information, bank and payment information, or other sensitive personal data.

Turn off this function to protect Google and Microsoft from seeing your passwords.
